Degree: Pisa (2024)
Supervisor: Prof. Simone Capaccioli
Room: 78, Ed. B

Aysa Ghahramaniazad is a first year PhD student in Physics at the University of Pisa. Her studies and research activity are focused on the study of the physics of polymers for welding applications in packaging materials. This project is in collaboration with Tetra Pak, an international company at the forefront of packaging solutions.
In this project, she is working on flow-induced crystallization and sealing process modelling by COMSOL. Additionally, she will focus on characterizing various polymers using the Fast-Scanning Calorimetry technique. She will continue the project at Lund University, Sweden, conducting experimental studies on the physical, chemical, structural, and dynamical properties of packaging polymers using Synchrotron Radiation Physics.
Her academic background includes a master’s degree in Biopharmaceutical and Material Science (BIOPHAM) as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, studying at different universities such as the University of Pisa (Italy), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain), and the University of Lille (France).
She has extensive industrial and academic experience in materials science and characterization techniques. She worked as a Research Intern at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Belgium. Furthermore, she holds both a Bachelor's and a master’s degree in Solid State Physics from the University of Tabriz in Iran. During her master’s studies, she worked on the  synthesis and characterization of ZnO nanoparticles.
