I am French and I did most of my studies in France where I obtained a master degree of engineering at Telecom Bretagne. I had a very diversified cursus there and I finally specialized in optical telecommunication. In parallel to this I have also obtained a research master degree in photonics which allows me to have both the point of view of the engineer and of the researcher in this field of photonics in which I am now doing my PhD.
In the frame of the GraWIToN project (Marie Curie Program), I am indeed working at the European Gravitational Observatory on the realization of high power fibered optical components for the upgrade of the 2nd and 3rd generation Gravitational Waves detector. Thanks to this project I will have the opportunity to participate to an extensive training program consisting of schools, research activities and secondments in the labs of the participating partners.
So this will make me travel, which is a good thing for my work since I will keep learning from everywhere, but also a good thing for me since travelling and discovering is one of my main hobbies. Apart from this one I can also say that I really like sailing and more generally everything related to the sea.
