Matteo Baratti
I was born in January 1998 in Pietrasanta (Italy). I attended the Liceo Scientifico “Barsanti e Matteucci” in Viareggio obtaining my high school diploma in 2016. During those years, I discovered my passion for Physics, which led me to enroll at the University of Pisa. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Physics in 2020 with a thesis on the variability phenomena in gamma-ray emission from pulsars, under the supervision of Prof. Massimiliano Razzano. I continued my studies at the same university, focusing on the experimental aspects of Gravitational Wave Physics. I earned my Master's degree in 2024 with a thesis entitled “The Inverted Pendulum: a Novel Prototype Filter for the Einstein Telescope Seismic Attenuation System”, supervised by Prof. Francesco Fidecaro. In this work, I presented a new filter proposal for the seismic isolation of the Einstein Telescope interferometer optics and the first tests performed on a prototype of it. My current research field concerns Gravitational Waves, with particular interest in seismic noise reduction in gravitational observatories.
